Sustainability and Energy in 2026 to be Discussed on Agro-Economy

Asst. Prof. Burcu Savaş Çelik, Assistant Director of the Sustainable Environment and Society Application and Research Center, has published her academic study on the relationship between financial development and capital markets in Türkiye in the Journal of Academic Sensitivities that indexed within the TR Dizin database.

The Agro-Economy program, broadcast on AGRO TV, will host an important guest on Wednesday, January 7th. Assoc. Prof. Başak Özarslan, Director of the Sustainable Environment and Society Application and Research Center at Istanbul Gelişim University, will evaluate the developments expected to stand out in the fields of sustainability and energy in 2026.

Assoc. Prof. Başak Özarslan, Director of the Istanbul Gelisim University Sustainable Environment and Society Research and Application Center, represented our university at the 2025 ÇEVKO Foundation Green Point Award Ceremony held last week.

Istanbul Gelisim University's Center for Sustainable Environment and Society brought together students, academics, and community stakeholders at the TEDx Istanbul Gelisim University event held on November 22, 2025. The event's theme was "Sustainability" and its slogan was "Think. Sustain. Inspire," focusing on sharing knowledge and experience within the framework of sustainable future perspectives.

Asst. Prof. Burcu Savaş Çelik, Assistant Director of the Center for Sustainable Environment and Society Applications and Research at Istanbul Gelişim University, presented her full-text paper titled "The Relationship Between the Chinese Stock Market and US Monetary Policy Uncertainty" at the Yeditepe University International Congress held on October 12, 2025.

Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) continues to expand the global impact of its academic work. Asst. Prof. Burcu SAVAŞ ÇELİK and Asst. Prof. Tuğba KANTARCI, Assistant Directors of the Center for Sustainable Environment and Society Practices and Research, presented a significant scientific study at the INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF RECYCLING ECONOMY & SUSTAINABILITY POLICY-III, held in Azerbaijan on October 2-3, 2025.

Assoc. Prof. Başak Özarslan Doğan, Director of the Sustainable Environment and Society Application and Research Center, was invited to deliver the opening speech at the International Congress of Recycling Economy & Sustainability Policy – ​​III, held in Baku and Mingəçevir, Azerbaijan, on October 2-3, 2025.

Istanbul Gelişim University participated in the International Zero Waste Forum held in Istanbul from October 17–19, 2025. Assoc. Prof. Başak Özarslan Doğan, Director of the Sustainable Environment and Society Application and Research Center, represented our university at the event.
