Believing that the world will be a better place with art and design, Kale Group implemented the Kale Design and Art Center project. Kale Design and Art Center opened its doors to visitors on July 24, 2019.
In the basement of the center, where speeches and presentations are held as well as design and art workshops, there is a ceramic workshop; an exhibition area on the ground floor where the outputs of the workshops will be shared; a co-working space on the first floor that will allow for talks and presentations and group work; a library of 1,500 books on design and art on the second floor; on the third floor, there is a 3D printer open to everyone and a workshop with different models and production materials.
In addition, there is a Roots Cafe within the Kale Design and Art Center, which is based on the zero-waste philosophy that supports local producers.
The Base X KTSM Open Workshop program, initiated by Kale Design and Art Center, opened its doors to young ceramic artists, providing material and production support, enabling them to meet with art circles at Tophane-i Amire with the "Good Look Your World" selection.
In the exhibition “Solar: About the Sun”, which transforms plants, food wastes, soil and stones into sustainable artistic materials through various processes such as steaming and boiling, Aslı Smith presented a total of 11 striking works.
