A Strong Contribution from IGU to the COP31 Journey at Boğaziçi: Climate Agenda Meets Academia


Istanbul Gelisim University’s (IGU) climate-focused academic vision will be strongly represented at the “COP31 Journey” event, to be hosted by Boğaziçi University on April 17, 2026. Moderated by Assoc. Prof. Başak Özarslan, Director of SCTUAM at IGU, this significant gathering will take place at Albert Long Hall and aims to bring together representatives from academia, the public sector, and industry to establish a common ground in line with Türkiye’s climate goals.


COP31 Process and Türkiye’s Climate Policies

Within the scope of the event, the upcoming COP31 process will be discussed in detail. Türkiye’s climate policies, sustainable development goals, and environmental transformation strategies will be evaluated from an academic perspective. The session will be moderated by Assoc. Prof. Başak Özarslan, Director of SCTUAM at Istanbul Gelisim University.

Collaborations and Innovative Solutions at the Forefront

Organized by the Sustainable Future Platform, the event will highlight innovative approaches and cross-sector collaborations in tackling the climate crisis. Aiming to foster interdisciplinary interaction and collective intelligence, the event’s water theme sponsorship is undertaken by RC Water & Energy.
