The glaciers of Mount Cilo in Hakkari, with a history of 20 thousand years and a height of 4,000 meters, are melting rapidly.

Experts agree that the solution is a set of urgent measures that need to be taken at the local and general level.

The Cilo Mountains between Hakkari and Yüksekova have been declared a "national park" with the decision taken and host hundreds of nature lovers and mountaineers from all over Turkey and the world every year.

Assistant Professor Onur Şatır from Van Yüzüncü Yıl University (YYÜ) and Ali Kalçık, Chairman of Van Çev-Der, stated that global warming has become more serious and accelerated, causing different disasters from region to region.
