The panel, titled “Critical Minerals and Nuclear Energy: Creating a Secure Energy Future,” will explore the relationship between the global energy transition, energy security, critical mineral supply chains, and low-carbon energy technologies from a multidimensional perspective.

The panel will address the strategic importance of critical minerals required for the energy transition and the role of nuclear energy in the low-carbon energy transition within the framework of COP31 targets and the global net-zero agenda.

IGU SCTUAM Director Assoc. Prof. Başak Özarslan and Nuclear Energy Specialist Okan Yıldız will serve as speakers, while Asst. Prof. Can Burak Nalbantoğlu will moderate the panel.

The event will take place on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 13:00 to 15:00 at the ING Maslak Headquarters, B1 Conference Hall.
